DESCRIPTION:Community Relief Ministries is excited to announce that registration for our 3rd annual Ignite Van Wert event is now open. Ignite Van Wert is several days of sharing the love of Christ with the community through service projects. Ignite is open to individuals of all ages and skill levels. Volunteers will become missionaries to the community through projects involving landscaping\, painting\, electrical\, roofing\, carpentry and much more. Volunteers can serve for as little\, or as much of the event as they desire. Volunteers also get to choose what type of project they would like to help with. Ignite is free and volunteers will receive t-shirts as well as all of their meals during the event. We will even provide our out-of-town volunteers with a place to stay during the event. We do need the help of individuals skilled in the construction trades\, but even if you’ve never held a tool before\, we need you! There is a place for everyone to serve\, so bring the whole family.

DESCRIPTION:The 2023 Allen County Community Observance of the National Day of Prayer takes place on Thursday\, May 4th from 11:45 am – 1 pm at Veteran’s Memorial Civic Center in the Town Square\, Lima\, Ohio. \nThe Lima chapter of the National Day of Prayer Task Force has called believers to prayer on this day for more than 25 years and continues with passion to mobilize community prayer for our city\, county\, state and nation. \nWe invite you to join a diverse assembly of Lima and Allen County pastors and spiritual leaders as they\, along with invited business leaders\, educators\, musicians and city and county civic leaders lead the area in prayer. Scriptures\, songs\, and quotes from founding fathers and presidents mingle with the prayers as we stand together and ask for God’s direction and protection. WTGN Radio 97.7 FM and WTLW TV44 will broadcast the event live making it possible for a 10-county area to stand together and pray for their area as well. We truly exalt and magnify His name together! \nCome out and celebrate your freedom to pray along with millions of others at thousands of events from coast to coast! Everyone is invited! \nThe National Day of Prayer proclaimed by the president each year invites all faiths to pray according to their beliefs on the first Thursday of May. This organizing body is coordinating a Christian expression of this event. \nWe all have freedom to pray…in homes…in churches…at the courthouse… anywhere… on any day. However\, assigning a specific day allows us to stand together from one coast to another and appeal together for a mighty God to intervene in the affairs of our nation. It says in a powerful act of unity that we believe He is big enough\, powerful enough\, and merciful enough to lead us through the problems and challenges of our day. A specific day set aside for prayer inspires us to remember God cares about us and has invited us to pray to Him to bring about lasting change and a better world for our families. \nIn times of great uncertainty\, we draw hope and courage from Is 43:10-13\, “You are My witnesses\, says the Lord\, and My servant who I have chosen\, that you may know Me\, believe Me\, remain steadfast to Me and understand that I am He. Before me there was no god formed\, neither shall there be after Me. \nI\, even I\, am the Lord and besides Me there is no Savior. \nI have declared the future and have saved the nation in times of danger\, and I have shown that I am God — when there was no strange and alien god among you; therefore\, you are My witnesses\, says the Lord\, that I am God. Yes\, from the first existence of day and from this day forth I am He; and there is no one who can deliver out of My hand. I will work and who can hinder or reverse it?” \nThis organizing task force believes in the God of the Bible; the Father\, His Son Jesus Christ\, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus is who He said He is…the Way\, the Truth\, and the Life and that no one comes to the Father except through Him. Jn 14:6 \nWe believe that the ear of the Lord is open to the prayers of His people. Jesus taught us to pray to the Father in His name\, modeling and teaching prayer. \nPrayer for the government is an integral part of our faith as directed in Scripture\, 2 Timothy 2:1-3. “First of all\, I urge that prayers\, intercessions\, and thanksgivings be made on behalf of all men\, for kings and all who are in authority or high responsibility that outwardly we may pass a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way\, for such praying is good and right and pleasing to God.” \nTheresa Lee Coordinator \nOn the first Thursday in May we get to do an amazing thing. We don’t just assemble. We assemble before God….our Father…our Deliverer…our Rock…Sovereign God…Wonderful Counsellor. The vase represents your sin\, afflictions\, trauma\, release/surrender\, father wounds etc. As you break the vase\, you are releasing/surrendering to the feet of Jesus. As we place each broken piece together\, its symbolizes the love and healing Jesus has for us. That through the midst of the storm\, He is always there mending our hearts and healing us one step at at time. The process is about patience. We have to learn patience. \nThis class is VERY powerful. You will pick our your vase at the class. Come with an open mind\, open heart and expecting Jesus to do amazing things for you \nThe fee includes ALL materials plus snacks/water. You are welcomed to bring in non-alcoholic drinks if you’d like. \nThis class is a Pre-registeration/Pre-Pay as we buy supplies for all attendees.
